Jebus Slow Walks

On my flight back from St. Martin I got the idea to start making little videos to show my Seattle cousin (cousin Kitty) around. At first I was going to make it a private YouTube Channel but then figured, what the hell, make it public. It’s part social anxiety project because you get attention (which I normally shun) when you walk around filming. Part I’ve been a little lonely and a vlogger I like to watch, Life with David, started his channel in the pandemic because he was lonely. Also figured, I met friends blogging, maybe I may make some vlogging???

USS Midway

This video gives a nice overview about the Midway.

The USS Midway is located in downtown San Diego. It served as an aircraft carrier from 1945-1992. It served the entire Cold War period and then some. On June 7, 2004, it opened as a museum. It’s one of the most popular naval warship museums in the US. I like it more than the Intrepid in NYC.

Little Saigon

Little Saigon didn’t really look like much, it looks like a strip mall. My San Diego cousin was puzzled why I asked her mom and brother to take us there. When I travel I like to get in there, see every nook and cranny. July 4 2021, we went to Philly and while we waited for our train home, a Vietnam War vet started chatting with us. He got me in the mood to learn about the Vietnam War. I tried reading about it a few times over the years but wasn’t in the mood. That’s why I love traveling… meeting strangers that I’ll probably never talk to again but they affect my life in a big way. After reading that California has a very large Vietnamese population, I HAD to check it out.

Lake George

We’re very lucky in the state of New York. We have the city down state, beautiful beaches on Long Island, and vast wilderness upstate. Lake George is a large lake that’s 3 miles wide and 32 miles long. The water is pretty clear and clean too. We breathed some of the cleanest air we’ve ever smelled in NY.

Saratoga Springs

Woohoo! Our first trip in 2 years! We decided to stay local and not fly because we weren’t sure how things would turn out when we planned this trip back in Feb 2021. I’ve been curious about Saratoga Springs, NY since forever (maybe 20 years) and early October 2021 was the right time. Saratoga is a quaint, cute, pretty town. It is known as “The Queen of Spas” and the oldest racetrack in America. For a lot of the 19th and 20th centuries, they were known for gambling, horse racing, and health resorts.
